Description
About Body Butter
Aarviyon Body Butter combines shea and kokum butters with classical Ayurvedic oils — sesame for warmth and penetration, coconut for cooling, and almond for softness — along with turmeric and manjistha for tone. It is a genuine butter rather than a lotion, so it works on the skin that lotions cannot reach.
Kokum butter is the Indian counterpart to shea, pressed from the seeds of Garcinia indica along the Konkan coast. It is unusually stable, non-comedogenic and melts precisely at body temperature, which makes it ideal for a butter that has to spread easily without feeling waxy.
Key Benefits
- Intense Nourishment — For skin that lotions do not fix.
- Long-Lasting Hydration — Butters hold moisture far longer than water-based lotions.
- Rough Patch Repair — Softens elbows, knees, heels and knuckles.
- Winter Protection — Forms a protective layer against cold, dry air.
- Even Tone — Turmeric and manjistha support an even complexion.
- Stretch Mark Support — Traditionally used to keep skin supple and elastic.
- Non-Comedogenic — Kokum butter is unusually light for a butter.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Will it feel greasy?
A: It is rich by design, but applied to damp skin in a small quantity it absorbs well. Less is genuinely more with a butter.
Q: What is kokum butter?
A: An Indian butter pressed from Garcinia indica seeds along the Konkan coast. It is lighter and more stable than shea and melts at body temperature.
Q: Can I use it on my face?
A: It is formulated for the body. For the face, our Face Cream is lighter and more appropriate.
Q: Is it suitable during pregnancy?
A: It is a topical butter traditionally used to keep skin supple. Patch test first and check with your doctor if unsure.
Q: Why has it gone soft?
A: Natural butters soften above about 30 degrees. Refrigerate briefly and it will firm up without any loss of quality.
